Charles (Chuck) Gumbiner started his own accounting firm in 1950, right out of college. A few years later Louis (Lou) Savett joined him. They chose to focus on becoming part of the business community and providing hands-on service to their clients.
After having offices in Hollywood and Beverly Hills, the firm found its home in Santa Monica in the late 1980s. At that time, the firm had a staff of approximately 23 employees. Although the new offices were sizable for the existing firm, their vision was to serve the Southern California community and to continue to grow.
In the early 1990s, after several acquisitions and a few name changes, Gumbiner Savett Inc. had become a large local accounting consulting firm serving clients up and down the California coast, working with businesses that mirrored the state’s business economy.
Today, the firm is home to over 100 staff members with clients from local, national and international arenas. However, Gumbiner Savett continues to maintain the client focus of our founders and has not lost sight of the importance of being a friend and advisor, while upholding the ethics of the accounting profession.
As a full-service firm, Gumbiner Savett is an independent member of BKR International, a leading global association of independent accounting and business advisory firms representing the expertise of more than 160 member firms with over 500 offices in over 80 countries around the world.
